Steer Astro in ChatGPT

Last Updated: May 26, 2026

At Steer Corp ("we," "our," or "us"), we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use Steer on any platform, including our mobile applications (iOS, Android), web applications, and integrated services (collectively, the "App" or "Services").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App or Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use the App or Services.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Information You Provide

We collect the following information that you voluntarily provide when using the App:

• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile information through our supported authentication providers (such as Google Sign-In or other identity services).
• Birth Details: To generate your Vedic astrology birth chart (Kundali), we collect your date of birth, time of birth, place of birth (city, country), and the geographic coordinates (latitude, longitude) and timezone of your birth location. This information is essential for accurate astrological calculations.
• Current Location: To provide location-specific features such as daily Panchang (Vedic calendar), planetary transits, and muhurta (auspicious timing) calculations, we collect your current city of residence along with its geographic coordinates (latitude, longitude) and timezone.
• Profile Information: You may create multiple profiles (for yourself, family members, or others), each containing the birth details and location information mentioned above.
• Gender: We collect your gender (Male, Female, or Other) as part of your profile to provide gender-specific astrological interpretations where applicable in Vedic astrology traditions.
• Chat Conversations (Steer Mobile App only): We store your conversations with our AI-powered life coach to provide continuity and context-aware guidance. This does not apply to the ChatGPT App, where conversations are managed by OpenAI.
• Questions and Insights (Steer Mobile App only): Your responses to self-discovery questions and the personalized insights generated for you. This does not apply to the ChatGPT App.

1.2 Information Automatically Collected

When you use the App, we may automatically collect certain information, including:

• Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
• Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the App, including features used, time spent, and navigation patterns.
• Log Data: Technical information such as IP address, browser type, access times, and pages viewed.
• Network Information: Connection type and network status for optimizing App performance.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

We receive information from the following third-party services:

• Authentication Providers: Authentication data and basic profile information when you sign in through our supported identity providers, which may include Google Sign-In, Firebase Authentication, Keycloak, or other OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect compliant identity services depending on the platform you use.
• AI Service Providers: We use various AI providers (including OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, and others) to power our intelligent conversations and integrated experiences. These providers process your questions and chart data to generate personalized insights.

1.4 Astrological Data We Generate

Using the birth details and location you provide, our systems calculate and return the following astrological data types. This data is derived from your inputs and astronomical calculations:

• Birth Chart (Kundali): Planetary positions across zodiac signs and houses, ascendant sign, and retrograde status of planets, calculated from your birth date, time, and location.
• Planetary Period (Dasha) Data: Your Vimsottari Dasha timeline showing current and upcoming planetary periods (Mahadasha, Antardasha, Pratyantardasha, Sookshmadasha) with their start and end dates, calculated from your birth chart.
• Daily Panchang (Vedic Calendar): Location-specific daily astrological information including lunar day (tithi), lunar mansion (nakshatra), yoga, karana, sunrise/sunset times, and auspicious/inauspicious time periods, calculated for your current location.
• Planetary Transit Analysis: Current positions of planets and their relationship to your natal birth chart, including house placements and retrograde status, calculated for specific dates at your location.

This astrological data is generated in real-time from your stored birth details and location using astronomical calculations (Swiss Ephemeris). When used via the ChatGPT App, this data is returned to ChatGPT for display and interpretation. This data may be temporarily cached in our systems to provide faster access to the service and improve performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• Core Functionality: Calculate your Vedic birth chart, planetary periods (Dashas), divisional charts, daily Panchang, planetary transits, and generate personalized astrological insights based on your birth details and current location.
• AI-Powered Guidance: Provide personalized life coaching conversations through AI that understands your unique astrological context across all supported platforms.
• Account Management: Create and manage your account, authenticate users, and enable multi-profile functionality.
• Service Improvement: Analyze usage patterns to improve App features, user experience, and accuracy of insights.
• Service Communications: Send you transactional and service-related emails, including account verification, security alerts, billing and subscription notices, responses to your inquiries, customer support messages, and material changes to these terms or our policies.
• Astrological Notifications: Send you personalized emails about significant events in your chart and the sky, including changes in your planetary periods (Mahadasha, Antardasha, and Pratyantar Dasha transitions), major planetary transits affecting your chart, and noteworthy celestial events such as retrogrades and eclipses. • Access Controls: Access to personal information is restricted to authorized personnel who need it to perform their job functions.
• Regular Security Audits: We regularly review and update our security practices to address emerging threats.
• Secure Infrastructure: Our backend services run on secure cloud infrastructure with regular security updates and monitoring.

While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we continuously work to maintain the highest security standards.

8. International Data Transfers

10. Astrology Services Disclaimer

Steer provides Vedic astrology insights for informational, self-reflection, and personal development purposes only. Astrological interpretations are based on traditional Vedic principles combined with AI analysis and may vary from other sources or interpretations.

10.1 Nature of Astrological Insights

By using the App, you acknowledge and agree that:

• We do not claim to predict the future or guarantee any outcomes
• Astrological insights are subjective interpretations based on traditional Vedic principles
• Results may differ from those provided by other astrologers or astrological services
• Astrology is not scientifically validated and should be treated as a tool for reflection, not fact
• You assume full responsibility for how you interpret and apply astrological information in your life

10.2 AI Accuracy and Limitations

The App uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized insights based on your Vedic birth chart. While our AI provides suggestions and perspectives, it does not make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. You maintain full control over your decisions and actions.

Our AI-powered features may occasionally:

• Generate inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent information
• Misinterpret user questions or context
• Provide responses that conflict with traditional astrological texts or other sources
• Experience temporary service disruptions or errors

We continuously work to improve accuracy but cannot guarantee error-free performance. AI-generated content should be considered one perspective among many, not definitive guidance.

10.3 Professional Advice Disclaimer

Important: The insights provided by the App are for informational and guidance purposes only and should not be considered as professional medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice. You should:

• Not make important life decisions solely based on astrological insights
• Always consult qualified professionals (doctors, lawyers, financial advisors, therapists) for matters requiring professional expertise
• Seek immediate professional help for any medical, mental health, or safety concerns
• Use astrological insights as one of many inputs in your decision-making process, not as the sole determining factor

11. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to know what personal information is collected, used, shared, or sold
• Right to delete personal information held by businesses
• Right to opt-out of sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising CCPA rights

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@steercorp.io.

12. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Legal basis for processing: We process your data based on consent, contract performance, legal obligations, and legitimate interests.
• Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
• Right to data portability in a machine-readable format
• Right to restriction of processing in certain circumstances

For GDPR-related inquiries, contact us at privacy@steercorp.io.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

• Displaying a prominent notice within the App

Your continued use of the App after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.

14. Do Not Track Signals

Some web browsers and mobile devices have a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites and apps that you do not want to be tracked. Currently, there is no uniform standard for recognizing DNT signals. As such, the App does not respond to DNT browser signals at this time.

15. Your Consent

By using the App, you consent to this Privacy Policy and agree to its terms. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

16. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, STEER CORP AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Decisions and Actions: Any decisions made or actions taken by you or others based on AI-generated astrological insights, interpretations, or guidance provided through the App

• Data Processing: Actions taken by third-party service providers in processing your data in accordance with their own policies

Your use of the App and reliance on any information provided is solely at your own risk. This limitation of liability applies regardless of the form of action, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise, even if Steer Corp has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

We recognize that birth information (date, time, and location of birth) constitutes sensitive personal data because it:

• Can be used to uniquely identify individuals when combined with other data
• Reveals age and may indicate other personal characteristics
